Greening Nepal's urban areas through the Miyawaki method - lily leaves social enterprise

Swoyambhu Religious Forest Reforestation Project-II

On September 16, 2025, a new dense forest was planted at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Swoyambhu using the Miyawaki method. A total of 3,500 saplings from 50 native species were planted across 1,445.5 square meters of land. This forest will provides habitat for local birds, insects, and animals, helps restore the natural balance of the area, and contributes to reducing the effects of climate change. It is more than just a plantation .It is a living ecosystem that will grow and thrive for generations to come.
